Date: 15.09.2012
Event location: Teatr Szwalnia
from: 13:00 to: 15:00

Łódź - just like at the Oktoberfest.

We will present the most famous dances danced at folk gatherings. In Łódź, we will feel the atmosphere of folk festivals organized by our western neighbors.

Characteristics of the Bavarian and Tyrolean dances: danced in pairs, in a circle, polka steps, clapping, stamping.

Dances consist of a sequence of steps that are repeated throughout the dance.
These are often integrating dances, a sequence of steps is danced each time with a different partner, which gives the opportunity to meet other people. We will learn dances from southern Germany and Austria, and since music and dance know no borders, different variants of these dances can be seen also in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Tradition is tending the flame, it's not worshiping the ashes.
Gustav Mahler
